Randy Draftz, Principal of Regatta Management

Randy has been in the marine industry his entire career, involved in boat sales, sailmaking marine retail and ecommerce. He currently owns Charleston Yachting, a marine outfitter and rigging shop for cruising and racing sailors.

In his spare time Randy is paying back to the sport he has enjoyed all these years as Director of Sperry Top-Sider Charleston Race Week.

Race week won the coveted US Sailing Regatta Excellence award.

Randy has also managed the Inland Yachting Association's annual championship and multiple Melges 24 world level events.

I have had the pleasure of working with Randy since 2011 when we hosted the Yacht Club Summit in Chicago. He does this by listening to the sailors, continually trying new things, partnering with the entire sailing community and supporting their goals, and always having a bigger mission than just a successful race week; he is selflessly committed to a vibrant future for sailing.
